Amputee World Cup: Morocco in the 2nd round

Moroccan selection of amputees

The Moroccan national amputee football team qualified on Monday (October 3rd) for the second round of the FIFA World Cup taking place in Turkey, after its draw against Iran (0-0), at the “TFF Riva” stadium in Istanbul.

The Moroccans, winners of Ireland (6-0) for their entry into the running, were then beaten by Brazil (2-0) on Sunday, before hanging Iran on Monday. A result, however, sufficient to advance to the second round. The Moroccans are indeed among the best third. They will know their opponents after the end of the first round matches.

The Amputee Football World Cup, held in Istanbul from September 30 to October 9, has 24 teams participating. In addition to the Atlas Lions, Africa also has two other representatives: Liberia and Tanzania.
