The Gambia will not be able to host its next international matches in its Independence Stadium. Indeed, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has sent a letter to the Gambia Football Federation to prohibit the use of this infrastructure until further notice. And for good reason, according to the Pan-African body, the stadium is ” old and obsolete, the quality of the grass is not suitable for organizing matches and will be prohibited until further notice “.

This decision cools the ardor of the public to see the Gambian selection replay at home after a good participation in CAN 2021 in Cameroon . The Gambia-Chad match, scheduled for March 29, 2022 and counting for the CAN 2023 preliminaries, will be played abroad.
